Redwood - Clear All Heart |
|
Jones Lumber has extensive milling capabilities to mill lumber to special size requirements, as well as WCLIB certified lumber grades. If you don't see the size you need, be sure to call!
Clear All Heart, Clear A and B Grade are sold kiln dried for the finest exterior and interior architectural uses.
Clear All Heart: The finest architectural heartwood grade, kiln dried and free of defects on face (reverse face may have slight imperfections).
Color: All red heartwood.
Durability: Reddish-brown hearwood from the innter portion of the tree contains extractives that render it resistant to decay.
The cream-colored sapwood that develops in the outer growth layer of the tree does not possess the heartwood's resistance to decay and insects.
All heartwood grades will have the term "heart" in the grade name.

Clear "A": Same general quality as Clear All Heart except contains sapwood in varying amounts. Kiln Dried.

Construction Heart, Construction Commo, Merchantile Heart and Merchantile are offered seasoned or unseasoned and are frequently specified for decks, fences and ground uses where knots or other characteristics have little or no effect.
Construction Heart: A heartwood grade containing knots of varying sizes and other light imperfections.
Unseasoned or seasoned, it can be surfaced (S4S) or rough.
Color: Red heartwood.
