Cedar - #2 & Better Clear (Export R List 401) |

Jones Lumber has extensive milling capabilities to mill lumber to special size requirements, as well as WCLIB certified lumber grades. If you don't see the size you need, be sure to call!
Clear cedar has a limited number of natural characteristics and is specified when appearance of the highest quality is desired.
Clear boards and planks are typically kiln dried and clear grades of timbers are normally supplied green.
#2 & Better Clear: This grade should be specified when the finest clear cedar is desired.
It's natural characteristics, with minimal pin knots, do not detract from the wood's fine appearance.
Pieces are of mixed grain (vertical and flat) and are graded for surface strength.
This is the best cedar produced today.
It is available in surfaced or rough and is kiln dried.

D & Better Clear: This grade consists of D Clear, C Clear and B Clear.
Permits slightly larger and more numerous characteristics than #2 & Better Clear and occasional pieces may require trimming to yield high grade pieces in shorter lenghts.
It is available in surfaced or rough and is kiln dried.

Knotty cedar presents a more rustic appearance.
Sold both unseasoned or seasoned.
Sound Tight Knot: A non-structural product manufactured to meet appearance requirements.
This material has highly restricted wane allowances to give well defined corners.
Contains no holes, but does have considerable amount of sound and tight knots giving the wood a rustic architectural look.
Unseasoned or seasoned, it can be surfaced or rough.

Knotty cedar presents a more rustic appearance.
Sold both unseasoned or seasoned.
Architect Knotty: A durable, well manufactured Western Red Cedar decking that comes ready to use. This sound and tight knotted decking limits both the eize and quality of characteristics.
The smooth, skip-free dressing over the entire face makes it the ideal deck surface.
The top decking choice where the natural beauty and lasting charm of a knotty deck are desired.
It is available surfaced with eased edges and is kiln dried.
